Does the NHS really have no spare money to replace staff?

Probably Yes/probably No – what it does not have is a firm grasp of what it is paying for at any point in time.

Not replacing staff is a false economy leading to additional pressures in the system – if you can replace a role using AI or similar do so now, especially if it is going to cost less, so that way you always have it in the budget.
